Little Miss & Mr. Hawaiian Tropic Texas

The Little Miss & Mr. Hawaiian Tropic Texas Pageant system is actually a children's model search and is the only venue in which Hawaiian Tropic's models are selected for their "Just For Kids" and "Baby Faces" suntan products national print ad campaign. The pageant system is a spin off of the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Texas Pageant which was designed to promote the use of sun protection. Hawaiian Tropic believes in the importance of educating children and their families on sun protection since most skin damage occurs before the age of eighteen.

The Little Miss & Mr. Hawaiian Tropic Texas Pageant is a state wide model search for boys and girls, ages 1-16 years. Winners from our state pageant will represent the Lone Star State at the Little Miss & Mister Hawaiian Tropic International Pageant in Canada. The international pageant is a spin off of the Miss Hawaiian Tropic International competition, which was designed to promote the use of sun protection. Hawaiian Tropic believes in the importance of educating children and their families on sun protection since most skin damage occurs before the age of eighteen. This is where it all starts! There are many modeling opportunities for children through the Little Miss & Mr. Hawaiian Tropic Texas Pageants both locally and nationally!

Rules and General Information

No experience is necessary to enter. Participating in Hawaiian Tropic Texas Pageants can open many doors for your child. Representatives from children’s modeling and talent agencies are sometimes in attendance. Our number one goal is to create a memorable day for you and your family.

We will rehearse with your child before the pageant so they are comfortable on stage. We encourage them to “just be themselves” and we reward them with self esteem and confidence. Each contestant will come up on stage and smile. Babies can wave and blow kisses if they want to. All we want is for everybody to have a great time. Contestants 1-4 years must have an adult bring them on stage. There will be one winner and two runners up in each age division.

Mail your applications early!! Age groups may be divided if they are too large by the deadline date!

If something happens that you are unable to attend, your unused entry fees will be credited to a future pageant. No refunds will be made for any reason.

ENTRY FEE:

The entry fee is $40 if paid at one day prior to the pageant. You may mail in a check or money order, call in payment over the phone with a credit card or pay on-line with Pay Pal. If you pay the day of the pageant the entry fee will be $50 cash.

PAGEANT JUDGING GUIDELINES:

Contestants will be judged on stage in swimwear and casual wear at most of the preliminary competitions. Some malls are only having a casual wear competition. Props are acceptable (hats, glasses, etc.). They will be judged 1-10 on beauty, stage presence, personality and attire by a panel of judges. No make-up is allowed on any contestant under 6 years. Contestants ages 7 and up may wear age appropriate make-up.

CHECK-IN INFORMATION:

All contestants must be checked-in by a parent or guardian anytime between 10:30 -11:30am the day of the pageant. The competition will begin at 1:00 pm (unless otherwise noted on the schedule). At this time you will receive your contestant number and enter the optional photogenic category. The contestant does not need to be present at check-in. If you have paid with your entry via paypal.com you must bring your PayPal receipt with you to check-in.

AGE DIVISIONS:

Tiny Miss: 1-2 years
Wee Miss: 3-4 years
Little Miss: 5-6 years
Young Miss: 7-10 years
Junior Miss: 11-13 years
Teen Miss: 14-16 years
Wee Mister: 1-2 years
Little Mister: 3-6 years
Young Mister: 7-12 years

PRIZES:

All contestants will receive a gift from Hawaiian Tropic Texas for participating in the pageant. There will be one winner and at two alternates in each age group. The winner will receive a trophy and sash, and the 2nd & 3rd place winners will receive a trophy. All three winners will advance to the State Finals.

OPTIONAL PHOTOGENIC COMPETITION:

One winner per age division will win a free photo shoot from our photography sponsors. Photos may be color or B/W and any size up to 8x10. The cost to enter this category is $10.00 for the first photo and $5.00 for each additional photo. The photos can be a head or body shot of the child. Please bring your photo with you at check-in. The photos will be returned after the pageant.
